Spectacokids is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. The perfect candidate will have a strong passion for supporting children and the expertise to develop tailored treatment plans for kids and youth with autism spectrum disorder. Responsibilities include assessing patients, creating and executing treatment plans, and offering guidance and support to clients and their families. The Occupational Therapist must also possess excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including BCBAs and ABA Therapists.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients’ abilities, needs, and conditions.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans to help patients reach their goals.
  • Collaborate with family/ABA Team to inform client’s Treatment Plan.
  • Provide patient and family education on how to use assistive devices and other therapeutic tools. Individual Authorizer status preferred.
  • Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises, activities, and techniques.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of treatments and modify plans as needed.
  • Document patient progress in medical record, Jane.app.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.

Registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.

Experience working with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and/or complex behavioural challenges

Strong assessment, planning, priority setting, and problem solving skills; demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
